Project Goals

Tingala Spirits needed a modern replacement for their ageing WordPress site, built on an outdated page builder that was limiting their growth. The new site had to preserve years of existing content — over 70 recipes, extensive blog archives, and 100+ bar and liquor store locations — while delivering a significantly improved design, mobile experience, and page performance.

Process

The designer and I worked closely with the client through multiple design rounds to establish the right visual direction. Mid-build, the client opted to change course and revisit an earlier concept, requiring us to restart the development process — a challenge we navigated without losing momentum.

The finished site features subtle parallax photography effects, a custom interactive map allowing users to locate bars, restaurants, and liquor stores stocking Tingala products, and a recipe finder filterable by drink type. Years of blog content were reorganised and tagged to improve discoverability. All location data is managed via custom post types, making ongoing updates straightforward for the client.

Outcomes

The client has been actively adding content for over a year since launch. Page performance scores are strong, the recipe and location tools have become central features of the user experience, and the site now reflects the premium positioning of this craft spirits brand.
