Minority Serving – Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC) design refresh
MS-CC needed a visual rebrand implemented across their existing live WordPress site — updated design tokens, a refreshed visual identity, and new content management capabilities — without disrupting the content or workflows their team depended on day to day.
The primary challenge was executing a full design overhaul on a site that remained live and in active use throughout the process. Design tokens were updated systematically across the theme to reflect the new brand, and existing modules were restyled to align with the refreshed visual identity — all while ensuring no existing content was lost or broken in the transition.
Beyond the visual update, new Timber/Twig modules were developed to give content managers more flexible page layout options. A dynamic events module was also added, allowing the team to surface upcoming events prominently without manual homepage edits.
Skip navigation and focus management were implemented to WCAG 2 standards, and the site was fully QA’d across breakpoints before the rebrand went live.
Launched in 2026, the refreshed site delivers a cohesive, modern identity for MS-CC while giving their content team meaningfully more control over how pages are structured and what’s featured — without requiring developer involvement for routine updates.
