CSU Transportation – website build
Colorado State University’s Parking & Transportation Services needed a rebuilt website that worked within CSU’s established brand guidelines while giving content managers genuine creative flexibility — and surfacing live parking availability data to students and staff in real time.
Working from brand guidelines rather than a single fixed design, I developed the theme in Timber/Twig with an emphasis on building modular, flexible components. A particular focus was a headline module that supports multiple typographic treatments within a single layout — mixing fonts and styles per headline — giving content managers a range of expressive options without requiring custom development for each page.
Real-time parking availability is surfaced in the site footer via an API integration, pulling live data from CSU’s parking infrastructure and displaying current lot status to users on every page. The integration needed to be reliable, performant, and unobtrusive — useful without dominating the experience.
WCAG 2 accessibility was implemented throughout the build, including skip navigation and focus management. Full responsive QA was completed across device sizes prior to launch.
Launched in 2024, the site gives CSU Parking a modern, on-brand web presence with practical real-time utility for the university community. The flexible module architecture means content managers can build varied, visually distinct pages without stepping outside the brand system.
