My Journey

In 1998, I graduated from the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver with a degree in Visual Communications. I began work for a local trade show company doing graphic design. Since then I’ve worked in print shops, restaurants and reprographics shops, honing my customer service & management skills.

In 2006 I took a position at a local family-owned printing business, Yellowdog Printing & Graphics. This choice has truly changed my life. I worked my way up from being the only employee, assisting the owners wherever needed to Operations Manager with  5+ employees and over $1M in yearly sales.

In 2015, our second daughter was born and I took a step back. I worked from home as a production designer in the evenings and on weekends while raising our children at home. Meanwhile, YellowDog rebranded as a multi-faceted print, design & marketing company. In 2019 I accepted a position with them as a junior web developer, and I’ve dived into the deep end of front-end development.

I’ve taken courses on HTML, CSS, Javascript, modern web development, Git workflows, JS frameworks and more. YellowDog designs and develops WordPress websites using the Elementor Pro pagebuilder, and that has been my primary focus so far. I’ve been an enthusiastic member of the Elementor community through multiple meetups, Youtube and blog posts. I truly believe that I learn best through doing, and I learn something new on every project.

I’ve truly found a passion for web development and I’m excited to continue my journey!
